2nd Annual D.C. LEARNs Child and Family Literacy Volunteer Recruitment Fair

D.C. LEARNs, in partnership with Community Youth Services at D.C. Public Library, is hosting the 2007 Child and Family Literacy Volunteer Recruitment Fair.

The Fair will be on September 20th, from 5:30-7:30pm at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library.

Volunteer opportunities include: helping children and youth with their reading, writing, and math skills, participating in educational enrichment activities in after-school programs, and serving as a mentor, role model, and friend to under-served children in the D.C. community.

Event participants will hear from current volunteers and their students, who will share their experiences and successes. They will also have an opportunity to meet with representatives from about 30 local children's programs that will be on hand to discuss the intricacies of their programs, answer questions, and to sign attendees up as volunteers.

Come learn about volunteering in one of D.C.'s fantastic children's literacy programs!

Thursday, September 20th, 2007, from 5:30-7:30pm
