Adult Literacy Volunteer Fair

The DC Public Library, in partnership with D.C. LEARNs, will be hosting an Adult Literacy Volunteer Fair at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library on Thursday, September 13th from 6:30 p.m-8:30 p.m. The fair will be an information session that will help prospective volunteers learn more about adult literacy, meet representatives from adult literacy programs, and sign up to be a volunteer. The volunteer opportunities that these programs offer include helping someone to read, tutoring students studying to earn their GED or high school diploma, or helping non-English speakers learn English. If you or anyone you know would be interested in attending, please call Ben Merrion at (202) 727-2431, or email benjamin.merrion@dc.gov in order to register for the fair, and to receive more information.
