Administrative Assistant, Community Communications Part-time

Horizons at Maret at Maret offers at-risk public elementary school children, kindergarten through middle school, hands-on academic enrichment during the summer months and school year.
We are looking for a part-time, Spanish and English-speaking administrative assistant to conduct communications with our families and help manage and execute the program.
Responsibilities:
1.Establish communication with prospective Spanish and English-speaking families during enrollment process.
2.Maintain ongoing communication with Horizons families throughout the year.
3.Perform administrative and office support activities for Executive Director and Program Director.
4.Manage enrollment schedule, following up with candidate families to encourage registration and attendance with goal of successfully meeting annual enrollment goals.
5.Coordinate and manage bus transportation schedule for students during the program.
6.Assist with special event planning, including summer visiting days and special fundraising events.
Requirements:
1.Fluency in Spanish and English, written and verbal, is a mandatory component of the position.
2.Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. A big plus is proficiency with one or more of the following: Webstars, Blackbauds Raisers Edge, and FileMaker Pro.
3.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff members, Horizons families, and Horizons partner schools.
4.Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
5.Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and flexible.
The Administrative Assistant reports to the Executive Director. Some evening and weekend work required. This is a 12-month position.

Horizons at Maret offers at-risk public elementary school children, kindergarten through middle school, hands-on academic enrichment during the summer months and on Saturdays during the school year. The summer program is the focal point of Horizons, and all other services that are initiated are extensions of it. The six-week summer program emphasizes reading and math with additional instruction in art, music and science and complemented with daily instruction in swimming. Summer 2008, approximately 110 students will enroll in the program.
