TITLE: Director, Supportive Services

POSITION SUMMARY:
Develop and implement strategy for delivering supportive services to students and employees with disabilities and disadvantages. Supervise all intake and case management staff and activities at the DC and Arlington, VA training centers. Work closely with Development team to obtain and administer government grants and contracts to deliver workforce development services to persons with disabilities and disadvantages
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategy for delivering wrap around supportive services and job retention services to students and employees with disabilities and disadvantages.
2. Staff Supervision- Supervise and maintain a professional team of Employment Services Case Managers and Intake Coordinators who coordinate recruitment, intake, case management, and job retention services and activities.
3. Quality Assurance- Ensure common case file management systems and best practices are utilized at both training centers and audit case files for completeness and accuracy.
4. Work with Development team to develop and implement strategies to secure contract agreements with local government agencies (One-Stops, Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies, Schools, etc.) and administer grants or contracts once obtained.
5. Develop and implement recruitment plan to attract qualified, eligible students into training programs through funded and non-funded streams. This includes integration of target population referral goals identified in government grants/contracts or foundation grants and recruitment of Ability One qualified individuals into Environmental Services training program.
6. Build partnerships with community-based organizations to deliver supportive services on and off-site to students and employees not offered by Goodwill.
7. Participates in CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) planning to ensure T&E department s policies and procedures meet CARF standards.
This position requires regular travel to various off-site locations to visit partners and travel between the Arlington, VA and DC training centers.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Help maintain local service provider database of referral partners that includes a list of service populations and services provided by each local service provider/WDO.
2. Monitor distribution of electronic (email listservs) and/or print advertisements for Goodwill s training programs and events.
3. Work with T&E staff to host graduations and career fairs.
4. Participates in Goodwill s accessibility planning and development.
5. Delivers trainings to GGW staff on how to work with individuals with disabilities.
6. Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibility of T&E staff located at the DC Career Campus and Arlington Career Campus which currently includes 3 Employment Services Case Managers and 1 Intake Coordinator.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor s degree in Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation or human services related field.
2. Minimum one to three years experience delivering workforce development services to clients. Minimum four to eight years experience working in a vocational rehabilitation setting supervising workforce development staff and programs.
3. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of working with people with disabilities to overcome employment barriers and obtain and retain work. Must be familiar with how to make accommodations to persons with disabilities.
4. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of working with people with disadvantages to overcome employment barriers and obtain and retain work. Disadvantages include, but are not limited to persons with criminal backgrounds and limited English populations.
5. Knowledge and familiarity with human resources and hiring practices.
6. Demonstrated experience and knowledge managing referrals through multiple government and non-government funding streams.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize work effectively and multiple tasks simultaneously.
8. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access) and database entry.
9. Must possess a valid driver s license and a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation or human services related field.
2. CRC Licensure
3. Previous experience working in a CARF accredited organization and familiarity with standards.
4. Knowledge of Ability One program.
