DIRECTOR, LEARNING & ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT

The DC Children & Youth Investment Trust Corporation (Trust) is growing. We are adding a new and exciting dimension to our Learning & Organization Development Department. (LOD)


This position, Director of Learning & Organization Development, reports to the Vice President of LOD. As Director of LOD, you will develop curricula and materials based on customer needs; consult with the VP LOD, staff and grantees on Human Performance Improvement and assist with solution implementation, evaluation criteria and other OD learning practices. You will also facilitate youth development, leadership, management, customer service and personality profile management training (DISC or Myers Briggs).


In addition, you will take a lead role in designing learning programs for the emerging New Leaders, New Communities academy (NLNC). The NLNC is on target to help build leadership and organization development throughout Washington, DC s community based organizations and other non-profit organizations that serve children & youth. You will be challenged to help build this entity from the ground up.

This position will have supervisory responsibilities as well.

The successful candidate will be a polished professional with a bachelor s degree in education or business administration and a Masters Degree, preferably in organization development or adult education; a minimum of 7-10 years experience in training, leadership, and organization development; and a minimum of 3-5 years managing a learning/training organization; extensive facilitation and presentation experience; excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills. In addition, the successful candidate will have good people management skills, strong multi-tasking skills, a thorough knowledge of adult learning styles and a proficiency with cutting edge technology (e.g., developing Webinars) or a willingness to learn.
