Tech Teacher Position Description
The Fairfax Adult and Community Education s ESOL Program is looking for teachers to plan and deliver life skills lessons on the computer using software, EL/Civics materials, REEP Curriculum and/or internet resources. Teachers must coordinate with the classroom teacher to plan and deliver the lessons. The lessons will be compiled into a technology curriculum for all teachers to use. This position is funded through July 2009 by an EL/Civics grant.
Responsibilities:
Plan and teach life skills lessons in a computer lab to adult ESOL students
Collaborate with the classroom teacher on the content of the lessons
Write a minimum of 5 lesson plans to be incorporated into existing technology curriculum resources.
Attend 2 hours of pre-service training
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience teaching adult ESOL
Experience integrating technology in instruction in an adult ESOL context
Good lesson planning skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work in the evening
Familiarity with the REEP curriculum preferred.
Benefits:
2 hours of paid training
3 paid hours per lesson: 2 hours of planning and 1 hour of instruction time
Pay rate: $30.38
