Youth Services Program Manager

Since 1973, Jubilee Housing has provided safe, affordable housing and supportive services to low-income citizens in the Adams-Morgan neighborhood of Washington D.C. Housing more than 850 individuals and families, Jubilee Housing has become a model for other programs around the country seeking an effective response to the urban affordable housing crisis. More than just “bricks and mortar,” Jubilee provides a stable context for people to live into their hopes, their dreams and their fullest potential.

Jubilee Housing seeks a full-time Youth Services Manager for an emerging after-school and summer program for children and youth grades K-12. Candidates must reflect an interest and competence in the following core program principles: creating an environment of academic excellence, building a community of belonging among participants and their families, supporting leadership and character development, and nurturing emotional and physical health and wellness.

Principle responsibilities include:

  • Oversee development, implementation, and evaluation of all programming for children and youth, grades K-12, while ensuring department has appropriate programmatic, technological, and administrative resources to fulfill mission.

  • Manage and support Youth Services program staff - hiring, evaluations, quarterly work plans, and facilitation of regular individual and department meetings.

  • Create and execute Youth Services strategic plan and budget, while enhancing existing program policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with Development Department and Jubilee Housing community partners to help fundraise program budget and obtain needed resources.

  • Work with Finance Department to create and implement accounting functions and operational procedures for the Youth Services team.

  • Coordinate and develop a positive working relationship with Property Management Department regarding the facility management of program space.

  • Ensure that milestones and outcomes for program areas are established and reached, while tracking them through use of ETO Software.

  • Participate in general staff gatherings and Senior Management Meetings to guarantee proper communication and understanding among departments.

  • Ensure program cohesion, alignment and information sharing between Youth Services team and Resident Services department.

  • Provide general support to the organization as needed.

    Qualifications

  • BS/BA in childhood development, or other related field
  • 2-5 years experience working with inner-city youth
  • Able to collaborate with others as a member of a working team
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Organized, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Sound judgment
  • Ability to multitask set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • English-Spanish bilingual a plus, but not required
  • Willingness to work afternoon and evening hours
  • Ability to occasionally travel with children outside Washington D.C. Metro area
  • Valid drivers license
