Position: Adult Education Coordinator
The Adult Education Coordinator provides management, in accord with best practices of the profession, contract/grant requirements, and all agency policies and procedures, for an assigned agency program unit or department under the close supervision of a program manager. Assists the manager in managing the program's finances and internal and external reports. Supervises assigned staff. Coordinator also provides teaching and tutoring instruction to adult learners. Programs supervised by program coordinator include GED, External Diploma, and computer classes.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Demonstrated cultural competence and cultural responsiveness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Management skills
- Problem solving skills
- Familiarity with adult education desired
- Ability to maintain client records and service plans
- Computer skills: Must be able to use database, prepare Word documents and Excel spreadsheets
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in education, social work or other human service field.
- 2 years experience working in program coordination
